St. Simons Island 2012

We just got back from a week long vacation to St. Simons Island.  We had a wonderful, relaxing time together. We were able to spend the week with both sides of our family.  We stayed in a beach house with Momo and Granddaddy.  Papa, Aunt B, Uncle Jon, and Aunt Lotis were about four houses down from us and RaRa and Autie joined the fun midway through the week.  We loved being able to spend time with everyone and the boys especially loved all the attention they received.

This was Parker's first trip to the beach and he loved it!  He loved running across the open sand straight to the waves.  He loved trying to stand up and letting them crash into them.  As soon as they knocked him over, he would just crawl farther and farther into the ocean.  He definitely had no fear!  He also loved throwing his beloved pacifier into the waves and having Mommy or Daddy scramble to try and find it. Once he tired out from all the wave crashing and walking he would walk up to the beach chairs for a snack or to the stroller for a stroll down the beach.  He was definitely a beach bum!

Collin loved the beach too!  He ran straight into the waves as soon as we got there.  He had Daddy, Granddaddy, Momo, and Papa take him out deep into the water to jump the waves.  He loved this until midway through the week when he got slammed and taken under by a wave and then he became a little more timid.  All week he begged us for a boogie board and once he got one he tired to ride the waves with Autie.  He was not so successful but looked super cute doing it.

Several times throughout the week we took the children to the Neptune Fun Park to swim.  They had a swimming pool and a kiddie area with two different slides for younger children.  The boys loved it!  Collin went down both slides over and over while Parker had any adult that would take him down.  It definitely wore them out!

All in all we had a wonderful time. We are so blessed we were able to spend time with all our family and they were able to get to know our boys on a more personal level.  We cannot wait until next summer for our next family beach adventure!

Parker Is Walking

Our little Parker is finally walking!  It is an answer to our prayers!  Although he was a little late reaching this milestone, Mommy and Daddy could not be happier.  It only took two physical therapy sessions with Miss Sumi where he literally cried and did not participate at all, and a trip to the beach, for our little man to decide he was ready.  Look out world, here he comes!

4th Of July 2012

We had a fun, low key Fourth of July this year.  It began with a family trip to the pool.  Collin loves swimming and was beyond excited to show us his skills. He showed us how he could swim all over the pool and his "cannonball" better known as a belly flop when he does it:-)  Parker, on the other hand, was a bit hesitant but loved it once we took him out of the float and let him float around in our arms.  He also loved standing on the steps and splashing. That evening Patrick grilled us some hamburgers, and then he and Collin headed down to our neighborhood pool for a fireworks display while Parker slept.  Daddy forgot to bring a chair for Collin, so they made do by taking Parker's carseat out and letting Collin sit in it.  I am sure that was quite a sight to see.  Maybe next year Parker can stay up to see them too!

10 Year Anniversary

This weekend Patrick and I celebrated our ten year anniversary.  Where has the time gone?  It seems like just yesterday we were standing at the alter in Barnwell Chapel at Berry College saying our vows, clueless as to what the future would hold.  Ten years, many job changes, and two children later, our love remains stronger than ever and we are still each others best friend. What a blessing!  To celebrate this huge milestone we headed to Chateau Elan for the weekend.  We were able to enjoy a couples message and several wonderful meals together where we were actually able to have a real conversation and eat our food while it was still warm.  A special thank you to Momo and Soos for coming up to watch the boys for us!  I love you more than ever, Patrick, and hope to celebrate many more milestones together!
