Baby Collin Update

Today I went for my weekly check-up and learned Baby Collin is in the head down position and appears to be on track to make his arrival around March 15th. We cannot wait to meet him!

Loganville Shower

Today we had our second baby shower in Loganville. It was hosted by my girlfriends Crystal Waters and Katie Vaughan. The theme of the shower was trains since Collin's room is decorated with trains. All of my college girlfriends were able to come, as well as some friends from church, Patrick's mom, my mom and my sister. We played a game with yarn where each person had to cut a piece of yarn they thought would fit around my belly. Apparently I look much bigger than I really am:) We then had cake, fruit, brownies and dip; and concluded by opening all of Collin's goodies.

Birmingham Shower

Today we had our first baby shower. It was held in Birmingham at Patrick's house and was hosted by Patrick's Aunt Pris. When we woke up, it looked like it was going to be a wonderful day. However, at about 9:30 it started snowing! We still had about 18 people turn out for the shower and had a ton of fun. We played several games including drawing a picture of a baby on a paper plate on top of your head and losing your clothespin if the word "baby" was said. We then had a wonderful lunch of chicken salad sandwiches, sweet potato chips, fruit and a brownie. We concluded by opening all of Collin's gifts. Below is a picture of all the goodies he recieved.

Collin's Nursery

Collin's nursery is coming along. Over the Christmas break we got the furniture positioned, the bedding in the crib, and the draperies hung. The theme is Railroad Express from Potterry Barn Kids. It is really starting to come together. The only things we are lacking are wall accessories. We have ordered navy wooden letters to spell his name above the crib, a wooden shelf to display toy trains on above his changing table, and two custom made canvases of a steam engine and a caboose to put behind the rocking chair. It should look good when everything is finally done. Hopefully he will love it as much as we do:)
